![]() Stewart, Midsummer Madness, Otley 2005 |
Stewart Stewart is the side's latest squire. Easily identified by Stonehenge sitting precariously on his hat, or alternatively by the small blonde child dancing with him (not a compulsory part of the kit). |
Malcolm, Durham Folk Party 2004 |
Malcolm Malcolm has become the side's resident collector - although with his approach to collecting he might be better referred to as the Repo Man! Resplendent in black and white kit and hat he'll happily scare idle passers-by (even those who haven't stopped to watch us) out of their loose change, and sell a badge or two on the way. |
![]() Anita, Alford 2002 |
Anita Dances are mainly taught, and frequently written, tweaked and perfected by the 'black lady', Anita, who can create a dance in the wink of an eye provided she has a beer mat to write on and can find her glass(es). Another dancer with a preference for fowl on her head, Anita is a keen enthusiast for liquid refreshments - just don't mention tea and scones as you could get a hostile response! |
|
Tony Tony is one half of our 'high flying' duo with Zena, and is not averse to a bit of bopping when not looking for his 'thermals'. Tony struts his stuff with peacock feathers while Zena has country pursuits on her mind, and her old hat floating somewhere down the Wharfe! She occasionally gets her melodeon out and plays along when she's not dancing. |
![]() Simon, Halifax 2003 |
Simon Simon ("give us your dosh") the treasurer and a founder member. Will use any method to get us to pay our subs and buy him a beer. He can usually be seen dancing in a tabard that has a Goose wandering off in search of a beer - no change there then? Simon is an old hand (well actually he's still youngish), a man who can perform a dance perfectly without having the vaguest idea of what he is dancing, where he is or which way is 'up' - every side should have one! We have an entire set or two! |
|
Zena Zena is multi-talented: she dances and plays melodeon, sometimes at the same time! Zena is the one with purple feathers and a witch on a broomstick on her kit, and a hat that has seen better days. When not dancing she is jumping off hills with Tony. |
Imme, 2006 |
Imme Imme is mistress of the wardrobe - no matter what it is if you want it she'll have it someone at castle Feist. Irrepressible with over-the-top everything, just look for the Wayzgoose with a plant on her leg and the studded trousers and you've found her. Also the guardian of our 'Boar's Head' - must remind Pete to have a shave! |
![]() Tell, Kirkstall 2003 |
Tell The artist of the bunch, Tell does a nice line in doodles and badges. Usually dancing with a panic-stricken / maniacal expression, she can be identified by her nautically-themed hat with its ropes, shells and lifebuoys, quite possibly purloined from someone's bathroom. |
|
|
Jude, Sompting Village Ale 2003 |
Jude One of the side's established singers and a flamboyant dancer, Jude is most easily identifiable by the pair of ram's horns on her hat. Some poor sheep is wandering about the Yorkshire Dales wondering what happened to his head! (NB It should be added that no animals were injured in the making of this hat.) |

|
Nicky, Midsummer Madness, Otley 2005
|
Nicky Another new(ish) person, although her dancing doesn't give that away. She and partner Alex are welcome additions to the side, not least because they bring lots of knowledge of beer with them, which is always a plus. |
Vicky, Warwick 2005 |
Vicky Vicky is the one under the hat, not hanging on the side of it (sorry Vicky - when we find another pic of you we'll change it!). In spite of her injuries Vicky has stuck with us - even though we've probably been the (indirect) cause of some of them! She's a very brave woman.... |
|
|
Andy Andy is one of the newer recruits, having only joined earlier this year. He picks things up remarkably quickly: dances, beer, groupies, you name it! |
Denise, Midsummer Madness, Otley 2005 |
Denise Since joining Wayzgoose as a non-dancer Denise has proved her worth in the percussion line, dazzling us with her co-ordination and rattling (of tambourines, that is). |
![]() Keith, Otley Folk Festival 2004 |
Keith Keith is the one with the motorcycle on his hat and the slight look of panic while dancing. Usually this disappears after a while, but it has been known to become fixed..!
